Professional training, career

1981-1986
Training as an art bookbinder in Heidelberg and Hamburg, advanced training at the centro del bel libro in Ascona, graduation from the master school for bookbinders at the Akademie für das Graphische Gewerbe in Munich.

1986-1994
Book and graphic restorer at the Badische Landesbibliothek in Karlsruhe and in her own studio for book and graphic restoration.

1994-1998
Head of the degree course for the restoration and conservation of graphic art, archival and library materials at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart.

1999-2001
Studies in science in conservation at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen (Konservatorskolen), graduating as Master of Science in Conservation (MSc)

Current position
Since 1998, Freelance work in own studio as graduate conservator for books and graphics, paper, leather, parchment.

Area of Speciality
Restoration and conservation of wooden bindings, manuscripts, parchment documents and seals, prints and hand drawings; lectures on the history of binding techniques and book production.
