Sol Rébora

Professional training, career
Training as a bookbinder in 1997 at the secondary school in in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with diploma in Craft. Advanced training with Deborah Evetts, Monique Lallier, Pascale Therond, Edwin Heim, Jean-Luc Honegger, Helene Jolis, Sün Evrard and Kathy Abbott.

Current position
Sol Rébora is a designer bookbinder working and living in Buenos Aires. She currently works and teaches courses out of her studio in addition to giving lectures and workshops in present and online at centers such as the SF-Center for the Book and Iowa University Center for the Book.

Area of Speciality
Her work encompasses innovative and experimental work in designer binding and contemporary conservation methods.

Further information
In 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009, Sol participated in the Society of Bookbinders-Education Training International Conferences. She participates also in different group exhibitions such as Epémère, Tomorrow's Past und Les Pages Bien Gardees.
She is a well-recognized practitioner, receiving awards both in Argentina and abroad. Sol’s work may be found in many private collections and inside of institution’s collections in USA, Mexico, France and UK, for example such as British Library.
