The centro del bel libro needs your support!
The history of the Centro del Bel Libro at Passaggio San Pietro in Ascona began in 1965 with the opening of the Legatoria Artistica by Josef Stemmle. For 60 years, we have dedicated our hearts and souls to running and preserving this school in the beautiful town of Ascona. Over the years, we have successfully navigated challenging times. The closure of the restoration section and the COVID-19 pandemic - when courses had to be suspended for a period - stand out as particularly difficult moments. Now, in our anniversary year of 2025, we are facing an even greater challenge. For the first time in the history of the CBL, we will have to operate entirely without public subsidies. This represents a loss of approximately CHF 50,000. When we were informed of the cantonal decision, we explored every possible avenue to challenge it. Unfortunately, our efforts were unsuccessful. As a first step, we implemented an increase in membership fees, a decision made at the 2024 Annual General Meeting. However, this adjustment can only offset a small portion of the lost funding. As a friend of the centro del bel libro, there are several ways you can actively support us - whether by attending a course in Ascona or Zurich, making a donation, or contributing directly to our account. We continue to rely on your generosity and will do so for the foreseeable future. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for any support you can offer the CBL. Every gesture, every contribution is deeply appreciated! |
